Meg Chandler

I’ve been drawn to tattoos and piercings for as long as I can remember, inspired early on by my auntie who was my ultimate alt icon. I’ve always loved looking into the history of tattooing and seeing how much the art form has evolved, especially in recent years.

At one point I thought I’d end up tattooing myself, but after working front of house and seeing the level of dedication and skill each artist brings, I realised my place was on the admin side of things - and I genuinely love it. Being able to guide clients, share knowledge, and help them find the right style and artist for their idea is one of the best parts of my job… closely followed by seeing them leave with a huge smile on their face.

Day to day, I focus on running our social media, greeting clients as they come through the door, helping shape and decorate the space, and generally keeping the studio ticking over as smoothly as possible. I like to think I help create the kind of environment where people feel looked after from the moment they walk in.

To me, Sacred Fury is exactly what a tattoo studio should be: welcoming, client-focused, and a space where people can feel completely comfortable being themselves. We’re all a bit weird and wonderful, and it means a lot to be part of a team where both staff and clients feel safe, supported, and at home.

If I’m in the studio, you’ll usually find me at the desk powered by tea and an unreasonable amount of cheese twists. Otherwise, I’m at home on the sofa with my cats; Lorelai, Rory and Sookie St James (bonus points if you get the reference).

More recently, my partner and I have fallen headfirst into the world of aquariums and now have a tropical tank filled with some really beautiful (and slightly high-maintenance) fish. It’s definitely breaking the bank a bit, but I’m completely obsessed. There’s something so calming about it, and I love learning more about all the different species and how to keep them happy.
