Katie Owen

I fell in love with tattooing through shows like Tattoo Fixers and LA Ink, and it clicked pretty quickly that this was something I could actually turn my art into. I’ve been tattooing since 2020, and I still love it just as much now as I did at the start.

I mainly work in black and grey, which is where I feel most at home, but I do like to experiment with colour when the piece calls for it. I especially enjoy fine line work, script, touches of realism and mandala-style designs. I love the detail, the softness and how clean everything looks once it’s healed. I do still love seeing full colour work too, especially neo-traditional. It’s probably my favourite style to look at, even if it’s not what I personally tattoo.

For me, a lot of the joy in tattooing comes from the process. I love drawing, bringing ideas together and turning them into something you can wear every day. Whether it’s something small and simple or a more detailed piece, I always put a lot of care into making sure it feels right.

Sacred Fury means a lot to me because it’s more than just a studio. It’s a space where people can feel comfortable, accepted and like they genuinely belong. It’s also somewhere I’ve been able to fully be myself and feel like I truly fit in, which makes being part of it even more important to me.

Outside of tattooing, I’m pretty easy to please. I love animals, (especially Freya, our kitten) dinosaurs, and collecting Pokémon cards. I’m also a big K-pop fan, especially BTS. You’ll usually find me drawing, snacking on houmous and crackers, or having a full karaoke session in the bath.
